ubuntu 6.10
January 8, 2007
my transition to ubuntu was not that hard, as ive work a little with it, i know how to do things, install and update things. But after all the effort this weekend im still somehow afraid of move on completely, sometimes my touchpad stops responding or a key gets stuck. So im scared of what itll do to my machine. The other laptop key “;” got stucked and i dont know if it was ’cause ubuntu, or the humidity in the air, its strange. Maybe ive to install the correct drivers but i really dont know how…
after searching a little bit, i saw the only thing i needed for installing the videocard was downloading the nvidia-glx, but i did it, modified the xorg.conf but didnt happened anything. crap. i need to search more maybe go with the linux group in campus, still ive to fix the other keyboard failure, $$.
although all the fear i still have, i must say i felt completely different than using windows, having controll of every package i install, the interface, symlinks, and partitions among other stuff…
i installed ntfs-g3 for r/w on my windows ntfs partition, and maybe it’s still in beta but it works fine, with time i know it will be stable and im waiting for it.
maybe later ill write more about this. but now i have to continue designing a blog module for work, and hw to do.
